Gaddis FaulconDr. Gaddis J. Faulcon, Interim President

Dr. Gaddis J. Faulcon is a native of Oxford, NC and currently serves as the Interim President of Shaw University, the oldest historically Black university in the Southern United States. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Augustine’s College and two degrees from North Carolina State University: a Master of Recreation Resources and Public Administration and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and Public Administration.

Dr. Faulcon's career in academia spans more than 25 years with both teaching and administrative positions. He has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Saint Augustine’s College and as the Acting Executive Director for Northeastern North Carolina Tomorrow, Inc. at Elizabeth City State University. In 1998, Faulcon joined the faculty of Shaw University as an assistant professor in the Department of Allied Health. He later served as chair of the department and was then appointed dean of Shaw’s College of Graduate and Professional Studies. He also served as an associate professor of Public Administration in the Department of Business and Public Administration.

On January 1, 2014, Shaw University’s Board of Trustees named Dr. Faulcon Acting President and would later name him Interim President with a contract extension in September 2014. In less than a year, Dr. Faulcon has managed to increase Shaw’s efficiency, reduce cost, reengage partners and create a customer-centric climate through process optimization – an entrepreneurial approach to productivity that involves a detailed analysis of the University’s operations. Through process optimization, the University will save nearly $2 million over the next year. In addition, on January 24, 2015, the North Carolina NAACP honored Shaw University and the leadership of Dr. Faulcon with its Humanitarian of the Year award.

Faulcon is the founding pastor of Agape Worship Center and Training Institute, Inc., in Stem, NC and president and founder of Winning Generation Education Training Institute, Inc. He is a certified Carlson Learning Company trainer and distributor and a charter member of the International Guild of Professional Consultants.
