Dwayne Seegars Jr. Receives Internship with KPMG
March 11, 2013 - Dwayne Seegars Jr., a senior accounting major from Charlotte, NC, was recently selected for an internship with KPMG. His internship begins June 13, 2013 in the Raleigh KPMG office.
KPMG is one of the largest professional services companies in the world and one of the "Big Four" auditors, along with Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Headquartered in Amstelveen, Netherlands, KPMG employs 145,000 people worldwide. Seegars is the first student from Shaw to receive an internship with the accounting firm.
"I'm thrilled to receive this opportunity," said Seegars. "I really want to thank my accounting professors Mr. Bugg and Mr. Beckwith because I could not have received the internship without them. I really enjoy the accounting department here at Shaw because the classes are small and you're learning from the best."
The KPMG Internship Program is designed to mirror the same "real-world" experience full-time accounting professionals engage in every day. Students in the program begin the internship with an intensive week-long training and then are assigned to a variety of client service sectors to gain a better understanding of KPMG and a career at a professional services firm. Upon successful completion of the program, interns are presented with a full-time offer of employment with KPMG.
