High Point CAPE Center Becomes Chamber of Commerce Member
April 10, 2014 – Shaw University's
High Point CAPE Center hosted a chamber of commerce ribbon cutting ceremony on
April 5th. The ribbon cutting
ceremony marked the official induction of the High Point CAPE Center into the
High Point Chamber of Commerce.
Shaw students, CAPE Student Government Association members, instructors, and
CAPE staff were in attendance for the ceremony.
Dr. Paul Wilson, coordinator for the High Point CAPE Center assisted
with the event. The ceremonial ribbon
was held by Shaw alumna Gloria Hayes and CAPE Senior Robert Overby while Shaw
Acting President Dr. Gaddis Faulcon had the honor of cutting the ribbon. In
addition, Brian Norris of the High Point Chamber of Commerce represented the
chamber and the city at the ceremony. “Our [High Point] Chamber is honored to
partner with this fine institution and we are eager to assist the High Point
CAPE through our Chamber benefits and programs,” said Norris.
the ceremony, all were invited to a “Shaw University Community Day” hosted by
Shaw's National Alumni Association president, James Shaw. The community day was
held at the City Lake Park in Jamestown, NC.
