January 27, 2011 - Autumn Bailey (Class of 2005) is featured in this month’s Trendsetters to Trendsetters magazine as an “Up-and-Coming Trendsetter.” Bailey, who earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in film production and a minor in philosophy, is currently co-producing the long-awaited, much-anticipated feature film “Blondie:  The Florence Ballard Story,” starring Faith Evans.  The move depicts the life of the legendary member and founder of The Supremes.  Production will begin in February in Atlanta, GA, and will boast an all-star cast.

After graduating from Shaw, she took the position of Production Manager/Head Producer of Saundra’s Productions, a flourishing theater company.  While there, she oversaw the production of numerous hit plays.

In addition to her theater work, she founded her own company, Autumn Bailey Entertainment in Atlanta and began making connections in the world of film.  She partnered with Peachtree Village International Film Festival to help attract 4,500 festival goers each year.   She has also attended the prestigious summer film workshops at the New York University Tisch School of Arts.

In the article in Trendsetters to Trendsetters, Bailey talks about coming to Shaw and how it affected her self-image when it came to her skin color, as well as where life has taken her since.

At Shaw, she earned a number of accolades and awards, including Miss Homecoming (2004-2005), Public Speaking Scholar (2002), Capitol Broadcasting Scholarship (2005-2006), National Dean's List (2002-2005), and Outstanding Student in Mass Communication (2002-2004).
