Shaw Alum Elected 1st VP of SEANC
October 18, 2012 - Art Anthony '74 was elected first vice president of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC), SEIU Local 2008 at the association's annual convention in Greensboro last month. His one-year term began October 1. SEANC, headquartered in Raleigh, is an advocacy organization for active and retired state employees.
Anthony is a research specialist at N.C. State University with 21 years of state service and SEANC membership. He received his bachelor's degree from Shaw University in 1974. He previously served as SEANC south central region representative to the executive committee and District 39 chairman.
Joining Anthony in the association's leadership roles are Sidney Sandy of Indian Trail as president, Stanley Gales of Durham as second vice president and Betty "B.J." Jones of Zebulon as treasurer.
