Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges
Shaw University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the regional accrediting organization for eleven states in the southeastern United States, including North Carolina. Reaffirmation of accreditation is on a ten year schedule, and the University was last reaccredited in 2002.
Our Quality Enhancement Plan was submitted in February 2013 and on March 26-28, 2013, the University participated in a reaccreditation visit. On December 9, 2013, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaffirmed the University's accreditation during its annual meeting in Atlanta, GA. The accreditation was reaffirmed for 10 years.
Going through the reaffirmation process has provided us with the opportunity to examine our history, enhance what we are doing presently, and embrace a future full of hopes and dreams, innovations and breakthroughs. We are now preparing for our fifth-year report that is due in 2017. Thank you for taking the time to visit the Office of Strategic Planning, Institutional Research and Effectiveness site.
