Shaw Alumni Participate in Garner Prayer Breakfast

Forbes, Hancock, and CronwallJanuary 9, 2014 - Shaw alumnus and trustee Dr. David C. Forbes '62 and alumnae Brandi Hancock '03 participated in Garner Mayor Ronnie S. Williams' Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast - A time for Praise, Prayer and Petition on January 9th at the First Baptist Church of Garner. Attending were elected officials, sponsors, area ministers, musicians, neighbors, friends and church members.

Dr. Forbes delivered a powerful keynote message taken from 2 Kings 7. His topic, "Where Do You Go from Here?" was eloquently delivered and well received by all.

Brandi Hancock, soprano, beautifully sang "Witness" – Hall Johnson and "Beams of Heaven" – Albert Tindley. She was accompanied by Dr. Loñieta Thompson Cornwall.

Miss North Carolina, who served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event, is a private student of Dr. Nakita Pace, adjunct voice professor at Shaw.
