Thomas J. Boyd Chapel to be led by the Divinity School
In celebrating the University's proud, religious heritage and mission, the Thomas J. Boyd Chapel will now be led by the Divinity School. The move will allow for a more active engagement of the Divinity School's students, faculty and staff in campus life.
Dr. Johnny B. Hill, Dean of the Divinity School, applauds the move as a step toward honoring the University's legacy in forming spiritual leaders for the church and society, with implications for character development and global awareness for students. "The decision encourages spiritual formation and global awareness among all Shaw University students, who make up diverse religious and cultural traditions," said Hill.
Chapel activities, programs, events, spirituality and Sunday services will now be facilitated through the Divinity School, effective immediately.
Accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Shaw University Divinity School offers the Master of Divinity and Master of Christian Education Degrees. The Divinity School is a recognized leader in theological education.
