To my Fellow Shaw Bears,
Thank you for electing me as your next Student Government
Association president. I am humbled by your confidence that I will be able to
lead and represent Shaw University students. I also want to express my
gratitude to my campaign team, all candidates and anyone else who played a part
in this race. You all carried out fair campaigns that made for an exciting and
competitive election. I was intrigued by your ideas and insights, and hope we
are able to implement some of your excellent suggestions. I would like to
congratulate fellow elected officers and look forward to serving and working
together as a team to represent this group of extraordinary and diverse
students. With your platforms I know we can effect a lot of change together.
As your newly elected president, I promise to take into
account your interests and voices on the many issues we will face during the
upcoming year along with the specific topics I addressed during my campaign. I
will begin to look for sources to help better the student body.
Please continue sharing your ideas and giving feedback, as I
will look to find more ways your new student government association can better
serve you. To that end, we will be placing a suggestion box in the SGA office
located on the 3rd floor of the Willie E. Gary Student Center. Feel free to let
us know what you’re thinking. You can include your name, for follow-up
purposes, or remain anonymous. We promise to give each comment the
consideration it deserves. It’s not about what we can do on our own but
representing you to the best of our abilities. Please help us do that. Together
we can make Shaw University an even better place.
