
Shaw University New Student Orientation
Congrats on your admission to Shaw University!
You are officially one of the newest members of the Shaw Bear family. We are committed to transforming you into a global leader, who will make an incredible impact on the world in which we live. The goal of New Student Orientation is to introduce students
and families to campus services, resources and the expectations of collegiate life at Shaw University. During New Student Orientation, students and families attend information sessions, participate in social activities, work with peer orientation
mentors and sit with an academic advisor to discuss your career pursuits, then register for courses. Orientation is a one-day event and begins at 8:00 a.m. and usually ends around 5:00 p.m.

Required Documents List
- Final official high school transcript
- SAT or ACT score
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Background check from the local police station or clerk of court office
- Physical examination done within the last 6 months, including a TB skin test or PPD.
Physical form must bear doctor’s or PAC’s signature and office stamp.
- Copy of your updated Immunization Record showing proof of all required vaccines listed below:
- At least 3 doses of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap), with proof of last one within the last 10 years.
- 3 doses of Hepatitis B, (HepB)
- 2 doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
