About the Honors College:

The Honors College is one of the BEST programs Shaw University has to offer! The Honors College (HC) is not just designed to give the most ambitious and scholarly students a challenge, but to stress the importance of the student's history, present, and future. Dr. Kim Leathers, Dean of the Honors College, has worked tremendously hard to ensure the students are well balanced and prepared in all three. HC students enroll in specially designed classes to embrace the history of important individuals, learning procedures and today's current events, and last, learning the value of saving a dollar! The final classes are equipped with preparing students after they leave the HC nest. The Honors College is literally a family on campus where the students work collaboratively and independently on research projects, case studies, campus events, and of course community service. I cannot stress how honored I am to have been a part of something so imperative and world changing. Upon graduation, I plan to obtain my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M) with a focus on surgical medicine.
