The Division of Health and Human Sciences (DHHS) prepares students to contribute to a global society and a diverse workforce as productive, responsible, and well-educated healthcare professionals and/or graduate students. This is accomplished by providing students with the knowledge and skills basic to the practice of their disciplines, instilling them with the fundamental attitudes of professionalism, teaching, service to the community, and a desire for lifelong learning in a personalized, culturally rich and dynamic learning environment that fosters faculty, staff, and student engagement. DHHS offers the Bachelor of Science degree and emphasizes four primary disciplines: 

• Exercise Science concentration Kinesiotherapy 
• Exercise Science concentration Fitness and Wellness 
• Exercise Science concentration Pre-Athletic Training
  
• Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Recreation Management 

The division  has one accredited program Adapted Physical Education:  Kinesiotherapy, which offer a fully functional Kinesiotherapy Clinic. All faculty in the DHHS are certified and/or licensed by the State of North Carolina and National Professional Bodies.

What Students Can Expect

Students in the division  graduate with strong science, communication and liberal arts skills and are ready to enter the job market as athletic trainers, parks and recreation managers, kinesiologists or attend graduate school to become a speech pathologist or audiologist.
