Congrats on your admission to Shaw University!
You are officially one of the newest members of the Shaw Bear family. We are committed to transforming you into a global leader, who will make an incredible impact on the world in which we live. The goal of New Student Orientation is to introduce students
and families to campus services, resources and the expectations of collegiate life at Shaw University. During New Student Orientation, students and families attend information sessions, participate in social activities, interact with peer orientation
mentors and meet with an academic advisor to discuss your career pursuits, then register for courses.

- The link to our virtual orientation platform will be emailed directly to you once you’ve confirmed enrollment with the Office of Admissions and registered for new student orientation (see "Register" link below).

The orientation platform is comprised of interactive modules to introduce you to campus life, students, university resources, and academic support. Virtual new student orientation modules are to be completed by ALL new, incoming first-year and transfer
students.
- Parents are STRONGLY encouraged to create a profile and complete the orientation modules, as well. We want to make you aware of all the wonderful opportunities that await your student at Shaw University.

New Student Checklist
- Register for New Student Orientation. Please be sure to upload any outstanding documents. Complete your housing
application (on or off campus)
- EARLY REGISTRATION SAVINGS: Please pay the non-refundable $75 enrollment fee at the time of registration. You will be automatically directed to the payment screen once you’ve submitted your registration form.

Required Documents List
- Final official high school transcript
- SAT or ACT score (optional)
- Background check, if requested
- Physical examination done within the last 6 months, including a TB skin test or PPD.
Physical form must bear doctor’s or PAC’s signature and office stamp.
- Copy of your updated Immunization Record showing proof of all required vaccines listed below:
- At least 3 doses of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap), with proof of last one within the last 10 years.
- 3 doses of Hepatitis B, (HepB)
- 2 doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
Please submit all admissions documents (final transcript and test scores) to the Office of Admissions. Health information (health physical form and immunization records) should be uploaded at the time of registration for orientation.
