I am Khalisa Rae Thompson, a journalist, former English Professor, and published author. I have an MFA in Creative Writing and a Nonprofit Management Certificate. My passion is creative writing, literature, MLA and APA organizing, thesis writing, and generating strong
content. I have been editing for 7 years and I am excited to help provide resources and skills to all students.
Abiodun Busuyi ’15
I am Abiodun Busuyi, a 2015 graduate of Shaw University. As an English major, my college career indicates and reveals my passion for writing. I am a skilled writer with a passion for helping others sharpen their writing ability. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree
in Information Assurance and Security from Purdue University. I have a sound knowledge of technology. I try my best to allow my appointments to have a digital, virtual, and hands-on experience. I also specialize in brainstorming and creativity. Lastly,
I have extensive experience assisting students with properly format their papers.
Sean Finn ’22
I am Sean Finn, a sophomore here at Shaw pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I am a member of the Quiz Bowl team. My areas of strength include writing science lab reports and research essays. In addition to science-related writings, I also have a passion for literary analysis and rhetorical essays. Writing is about expressing your ideas, and I am here to help you do that.
I am Charlene Lovett, an experienced teacher, and tutor who has cared about education for a long time. My best tutorial skills include patience, kindness, and understanding, and I am always willing to listen. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loves my family and teaching dance classes for fun.

University team. I explore all areas of writing including
fiction, journalism, and new media writing.
Hi, I'm Guisell and I'm the new Writing Center Mentor! I
specialize in helping students through writing challenges and any barriers
preventing them from success. I'm a writer, editor, and English Instructor with
an M.A. in English Literature and a certificate in Composition. I love helping
students find their own writing voice while developing academic reading and
writing skills. I really enjoy working with research papers, statements of
purpose, literary analysis, resumes, and cover letters. I'm also bilingual in
English and Spanish!
