Homecoming at Shaw University is a beloved tradition that unites students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the wider community in celebration and pride.

To help ensure a smooth experience, we encourage all attendees to review the important safety guidelines and event protocols outlined below. Your cooperation plays a vital role in making this year’s celebration both memorable and safe.

Campus Closures for Homecoming Week

The entire Shaw University campus, including all buildings, will be closed to visitors.

Only student residents will be permitted on campus during the closure periods.

  • Thursday: Closes at 9:30 p.m.
  • Friday: Closes at 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Closes at 6:00 p.m.

Please note the designated restrooms for all visitors.

Homecoming Parking Guidelines

In preparation for Homecoming Week festivities, please be advised of temporary parking
adjustments on campus to accommodate planned events and ensure a safe and enjoyable
experience for all.

Durham Memorial Stadium Reminder

To ensure a safe and speedy entry for all guests, a Clear Bag Policy will be enforced. Only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” will be allowed into the stadium. Click here to view the clear bag policy.

Bags must be completely transparent — no tinted colors or oversized contents that obstruct visibility.

  • Small, non-clear bags (such as clutches or wallets) must not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”.
  • Any non-clear bag larger than 4.5” x 6.5” will not be permitted.
  • Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after inspection by security personnel.

Game Day Parking Reminder:
All parking is cash only, so please plan accordingly and come prepared.
