Shaw University Students Visit PepsiCo for HBCU Career Trek

Shaw University students joined peers from other Historically Black Colleges and Universities for an exclusive career trek to PepsiCo’s corporate office and factory in Charlotte, gaining firsthand experience with career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, as well as business and innovation.

During the visit, students toured the facilities, took part in workshops on résumé building, and networked with PepsiCo professionals across marketing, engineering, supply chain, and research and development departments.

“This experience gave our students a tangible sense of what’s possible,” said Morgan Ray, Shaw’s director of experiential learning and career development. “They left inspired, informed, and ready to pursue opportunities that align with their passions and strengths.”

PepsiCo’s ongoing engagement with HBCUs includes $250,000 in scholarships for STEM students and programs designed to recruit and develop diverse talent.

The career trek is part of Shaw University’s continuing effort to connect students with transformative career experiences and industry leaders.
